1 in 8 Billion (1in8b.life)
The game that made the idea popular in October 2026, especially in Japan and Korea. It draws your country from real statistics for 172 countries and plays your life in real time — a year takes about a minute — so one life is a 30- to 90-minute experience. If you want to sit with one life, it is excellent.
BitLife
A long-running mobile game where you make the decisions: school, jobs, relationships, crimes. It is a sandbox, not a lottery — great fun, but your birth country is not weighted by where people are really born.
Any Human Ever
Draws a year, then a place, then a life from the more than 100 billion people who have ever lived. Most draws land in the last few centuries because population grew so fast. Good for history; less about the world today.
Random Life
Built for a quick, shareable answer: one tap, a whole life in a minute or two, and the odds of that life (“1 in 24”) on a card made for stories. Extra modes: dog life, Japan by prefecture, the daily life and a random country generator.
Questions
Is Random Life the same as 1 in 8 Billion?
No. Both start from the same idea — you are born as a random baby, weighted by where babies are really born — but they are different sites. 1 in 8 Billion (1in8b.life) plays a life in real time over 30 minutes or more. Random Life lets you tap through a full life in a minute or two and adds a dog mode, a Japan prefecture mode and a daily life with a streak.
What is the difference between Random Life and BitLife?
BitLife is a choice game: you decide what your character does. Random Life has no choices. You don't choose where you are born or what happens, which is the point — most people in the world are born somewhere very different from where they live now.
Which random life game is the most realistic?
The ones that weight your birth by real data. Random Life, 1 in 8 Billion and Any Human Ever all do; BitLife does not. Random Life uses UN births per country, so a birth in India or Nigeria is far more likely than one in Iceland.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
No. Every life in Random Life is free and needs no account. The keepsake pass is optional: it unlocks an HD certificate, a full timeline image, three hidden chapters of the life, and (if you want) a spot on the visitor wall.
